The Sandman Season 2: Renewed By Netflix? Find Out Here

Earlier this month, Netflix finally released the much-awaited first season of the fantasy drama series The Sandman. The first season of the series concluded while leaving the fans with several unanswered questions in their minds. Now, they are waiting for the return of The Sandman Season 2.

Developed by David S. Goyer, Allan Heinberg, and Lian Smith, Netflix’s The Sandman is an American mystery fantasy drama series based on Neil Gaiman’s books of the same name. The series follows Morpheus / Dream as he picks up a fight against a ground called The Endless.

What To Expect From The Sandman Season 2?

When The Sandman Season 2 returns, and if it keeps up the first season’s practice of following the books, it will include Dream Country and The Season of Mists. Dream Country is a collection of one-shot tales that includes the well-known “Dream of a Thousand Cats” and “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” Morpheus’ encounter with a young William Shakespeare in 1589 in The Sandman episode 6 served as the genesis for this.

The Sandman Season 2

One of the most well-known and influential stories from The Sandman is The Season of Mists. The conclusion of The Sandman season 1, when Lucifer promised retribution against Morpheus, set the scene. The tale of Dream’s ex-lover Nada, whom he exiled to Hell 10,000 years ago, is also brought to a conclusion. The name of the infant that was born in the Dreaming to Lyta Hall is also made public. Two additional Endless characters, Destiny and Delirium, and Gaiman’s interpretation of the Norse gods’ Thor, Loki, and Odin, are also introduced in The Season of Mists.

Why Does Desire Want To Trick Dream?

Surprisingly, Desire is at the core of the major revelation that occurs during the pivotal scene with Rose, Unity, and Dream. The issue is Dream’s fault because Rose’s other parent is also Dream’s sibling. This is quickly confirmed by a tense battle between Dream and Desire. But the motivation for Desire’s Desire to deceive Dream into doing a possibly negative action for him. And the Endless is left unanswered.

There must be a long history between the two that the program hasn’t yet delved into. Especially because Desire doesn’t show up in many situations, perhaps strategizing and keeping watch in the background. It would be intriguing to discover more about Desire’s motives. And the events with Dream in the past that continue to motivate them to plot against him.

When Is The Sandman Season 2 Coming?

The entire first season of The Sandman premiered on Netflix on August 5. The first season consisted of ten episodes in total. Meanwhile, talking about the show’s potential future, Netflix has not yet officially announced the second season yet. However, know that the first season ended on a cliffhanger.

Since the series is based on literature, there is no shortage of source material to continue the series for further seasons. At the same time, fans must know that Allan Heinberg has revealed that he has already started working on the script of The Sandman Season 2. This certainly is a positive sign. So, we urge fans to sit tight and wait for Netflix to announce The Sandman Season 3 officially.
