Fantastic Beasts 3: Production Delayed! J.K. Rowling Hinting Details, Harry Potter Alumni Joining & More

Fantastic Beasts 3: Warner Bros is yet again bringing another sequel of the Fantastic Beasts Franchise. Even the second movie could not do very well; they seem to be very confident that the third will. Honestly, we hope the same. Over time, the production company and writer J.K. Rowling has been revealing some details about Fantastic Beasts 3.

Fantastic Beasts franchise first started in 2016 when Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them released. The movie series is a spin-off and prequel of the original Harry Potter series. The movies are adapted by J.K. Rowling’s 2001 “guide book” with the same name. The first movie received overall positive reviews. However, the second film failed to impress everyone. Now, with the third movie on the way, what could happen? Here are all the details we know about the movie- 

Fantastic Beasts 3: Production Delayed! 

Everybody felt Fantastic Beasts 3 would follow the two-year pattern and release sometime in November 2020. However, Warner Bros pushed back the release date. Now, Fantastic Beasts 3 will release on November 12, 2021. The productions for the movie will start in spring 2020.

In a statement issued by Warner Bros Pictures Group, Toby Emmerich, the chairman explained that the delay would give more time and space for artistic exploration to filmmakers. This could even lead to the best possible film. 

Who Will Feature The Sequel? 

Eddie Redmayne is undoubtedly coming back as Newt Scamander for Fantastic beasts 3. Along with him, Jude Law will return as the young Albus Dumbledore. Kathrine Waterston is also coming back as Tina Goldstein. Accompanying everyone, Dan Fogler will play Jacob Kowalski too. Despite the legal battle, Johnny Depp has revealed that he will indeed come back as Gellert Grindelwald.

Not everyone survived in The Crimes of Grindelwald. However, that does not say that they wouldn’t come back. Like, Leta Lestrange, who was killed by Grindelwald, is dead, but she can still come in flashbacks. 

Behind the screens, Fantastic Beasts 3 will move forward under the direction of David Yates. Yates directed the last four Harry Potter movies. He has signed to direct all the upcoming Fantastic Beast movies. Along with Yates, one of the original series alumni is coming in too. Steve Kloves, who was the man behind all the Harry Potter screenplays, is returning. He will co-write the screenplays with J.K. Rowling. 

Fantastic Beasts 3: Plot Details! 

Not many details about the plot of Fantastic Beasts 3 is out. However, J.K. Rowling has hinted something. Lately, she tweeted that the movie would be set in Rio de Janeiro and in the period of the 1930s. On December 10, 2018, J.K. Rowling updated that she had completed the script of the third movie.

According to reports by Variety, Fantastic Beasts 3 would concentrate more on young Albus Dumbledore and bring Hogwarts in the picture. Box office analyst Jeff Bock suggests that Hogwarts was missing from Fantastic Beasts: The Crime of Grindelwald was the reason the movie did not do well. He suggested that even if it is set in Brazil, we can surely spend some time in Hogwarts.

With very little information about the plot, every bit seems important. Via a twitter comment, J.K. rowling commented that viewers would get to see Ilvermorny in its true glory in the upcoming sequel. Viewers will get to see more of Professor Eulalie Hicks, who joined the franchise in the second movie.
