Netflix finally announced the most-anticipated release date for The Rain Season 3. The fans have been waiting for this announcement for months. It is the first time any new series didn’t release in May. It makes the fans concerned about its production status but better late than never. The premiere schedule for the third season is finally here, and they just can’t wait to binge the final season of the series.
The Rain is a Danish post-apocalyptic web TV series. It made its debut on May 4, 2018, on Netflix and became an instant hit. After looking at the response, the creators gave it the green light for the second season, which premiered last year. Both the seasons received an enormous response from the fans as well as the critics. The drama is ranked as the top non-English Netflix original watched by more than 30 million viewers. In June 2019, the creators confirmed the third and the last installment of the show.
The Rain Season 3: Plot Details!
The second season ended with a cliffhanger with Rasmus being kidnapped. Now in the final season, the fans will see his allies rescue and try to learn what Apollon wants from him. Sten already made it clear in the second season that he doesn’t want to cure Rasmus, but he wants to cure himself by injecting the same virus. The viewers will also see the aftermath of Sarah getting infected by the same virus.
The third season will tie all the loose ends and completely conclude the story. After the release of the debut season, one of the creators, Christian Potalivo, teased the end. He said, “We have all the explanations; we haven’t just delivered all of them yet… There’s a pretty good explanation of how the virus was used and why it was used the way it’s been done in season one.”
Netflix released the official description of The Rain Season 3. It reads, “Years after the rain decimated the people of Scandinavia, Simone and Rasmus find themselves at edges on saving humankind. Rasmus wants to affect everyone with the very beta version of the virus that transformed him into a superhuman. While Simone thinks that there must be an antidote. Will they manage to put their disagreements aside to do the right thing?”
