Amazon had renewed the series for its second run soon before its first season aired on the streaming platform. Since then, fans are curiously waiting to get a moment to understand these elite superheroes, The Seven. However, to spice up your life, the creators gender-flipped a character that would be quite surprising to see. So, let’s see how deeper the character resembles the comic book.

The Boys, created by Eric Kripke, is a superhero drama series on Amazon Prime. The series is adapted from Darick Robertson and Garth Ennis’ comic book of the same title. It follows a group of infamous people fighting against the corrupted elite superheroes. The series is set in a world where people idolize superpower individuals as superheroes, the group famous as the Seven. However, their corrupt and arrogant nature stays hidden behind their masked face. But, the titular Boys team battle against these corrupted elites, which is led by Billy Butcher (Karl Urban), who hates the Seven and the entire superpowered individuals.

The Boys Season 2: When To Expect?

On June 26, in a live session, Kripke announced that the first three episodes will premiere on September 4, 2020. However, to build-up the fans’ excitement level, the creator added that the remaining five episodes would launch per week on Amazon Prime. It means the season would last till October.

The Boys Season 2: New Trailer Released!

In early December, Amazon has released The Boys Season 2 trailer. However, due to some confusion, shortly, the streamer removed the teaser video from Amazon Prime. But, don’t worry, recently, the streamer has released another video, pointing towards more bloodshed and conflict between the two groups. Also, more arrogant and power-thirsty superheroes are on their way to strife.

The Boys Season 2: Who Will Join The Battle?

Of course, the main cast from the first season will return for their revenge. These include Karl Urban (Billy Butcher), Erin Moriarty (Starlight), Jack Quaid (Hughie), and Chace Crawford (The Deep). Along with Antony Starr (Homelander), Jessie T. Usher (A-Train), and Laz Alonso (Mother’s Milk). Karen Fukuhara (The Female), Nathan Mitchell (Black Noir), Colby Minifie (Ashley Barrett), and Tomer Kapon (Frenchie) will join them as well. In fact, the one who had died in the series could reappear as flashbacks.

Aya Cash Will Play Gender-Flipped Character Stormfront

In the comic book, Stormfront was a man. So, why has the creator gender-flipped the character? In that context, the creator Eric responded that they wanted to make “Homelander’s worst nightmare,” because he gets more hurt and frustrated when he’ll lose from a strong woman, not man. The Stormfront would ruin Homelander’s world and cause as many troubles as possible in the second chapter.

Aya Cash further explained that she’s like a nuclear bomb that’ll shatter the Seven. The main aim to bring Stormfront is to cause Vought to think of why he created such superheroes. Like the comic book, the Stormfront would be racist and feminist, which would bring social media matters in The Boys, such as fake news that peaked during the evolution of Twitter. However, she would be a constant threat to Homelander.

Patton Oswalt Will Join The Cast

Lately, the creator has confirmed that Patton would join the cast in the second season. However, he didn’t disclose his role. Nonetheless, Patton’s secret role has been hiding from the world. Some of the comic’s loyal fans revealed that Patton would play The Legend’s character. A former comic book writer who would use his knowledge against those superheroes. Well, then things might turn favorable for The Boys.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan Excited To Join The Show

Earlier this year, Morgan tweeted that he would like to join the show. On which the creator positively responded that they too want to work with him. In an interview, the creator revealed that they were discussing the role. Kripke said there’s one such role that they think only Morgan can portray. However, the creator “don’t think it’s a done deal yet,” but they hope that soon Morgan could find time from his busy schedule and make this dream casting real.

Jensen Ackles’ Never Seen Before Character

The announcement came up earlier this week that Supernatural star Jensen Ackels will join The Boys as Solider Boy. Recently, BossLogic took on to Twitter and shared a Jensen picture in a super suit. In the comic book, Soldier Boy is the original superhero who gained popularity after World War II. Sounds familiar! Because he’s intended to be an imitation of Marvel’s Captain America. However, the creator has saved Soldier Boy’s entry for The Boys Season 3. So, let’s hope the second season could leave a loose end for Soldier Boy’s entrance.

Shawn Ashmore Will Play Opposite Of His X-Men’s Ice-Mutant

Early this August, the announcement came up that X-Men star Shawn Ashmore will join The Boys cast. However, this time he would go opposite to his icy mutant’s nature. Since Shawn has changed his plans to turn on the light after his cold aura, he’s ready to play Lamplighter. A former member of the elite The Seven who mysteriously disappeared. But, his arrival would bring more emotional and tragic journey ahead in The Boys Season 2.

Has It Renewed For Season 3?

On July 23, at the virtual event at Comic-Con@Home panel, the creator revealed that Amazon had renewed The Boys Season 3 early before its second season stream on the network. However, the executive producer Seth Rogen mocked that it would take decades to shoot the third season. Since The Boys Season 2 filming is yet to finish and the production team has no clue when they would begin filming for its third chapter. He further explained that the creator knows how to end the series. So let’s go with the flow.
