For All Mankind Season 2: Apple TV+ Sets An Air Date, Addition In The Cast, And More Details

Finally, Apple TV+ announced the premiere date of For All Mankind Season 2. A few months ago, the streamer revealed an elated trailer of For All Mankind Season 2 at Comic-Con @Home virtual panel. Meanwhile, there are some changes in the show’s format. Well, the streamer is looking for more longevity and hope the new format appears fruitful for Apple TV+ For All Mankind Season 2. Not only it have some changes in the structure, but it also had an addition in the cast.

For All Mankind, created by Ronald D. Moore, Ben Nedivi, and Matt Wolpert, is a science fiction drama on Apple TV+. It follows the first team mission to the Moon in the late 1960s during the Space Race, which turned into a global success for NASA. But, in another timeline, Soviet astronaut Alexei Leonov becomes the first person to land on Moon. This leads to a war between the US and the USSR.

For All Mankind Season 2: Release Date

The streamer recently confirmed that For All Mankind Season 2 will return on the streaming platform on February 19, 2021. Apple TV+ has ordered ten episodes of For All Mankind Season 2 that would release weekly instead of a binge-release. For All Mankind Season 2’s first episode will release on February 19 while the other episodes would air every Friday afterward.

Reason Behind Selecting This Format

Well, the weekly format has found success compares to the binge-release. Even several streaming platforms begin choosing that option to increase the longevity of their show. However, many viewers have been highly criticizing for changing the pattern. One such case happened with Amazon’s The Boys Season 2. Hopefully, Apple TV+ would gain some positive response on an opting weekly format.

For All Mankind Season 2: Cast Details

Although the next season would delve into the past, yet the series’ main characters would return to recur their role. These include Joel Kinnaman as Edward Baldwin, Sarah Jones as Tracy Stevens, and Michael Dorman as Gordo Stevens. Shantel VanSanten as Karen Baldwin, Jodi Balfour as Ellen Wilson, and Wrenn Schmidt as Margo Madison would also reprise their role. Along with Sonya Walger as Molly Cobb and Krys Marshall as Danielle Poole. It’s obvious that with the help from make-up and hair, the creative team would reflect the new era.

New Members Will Join The Team

Recently, the streamer revealed that some new stars would join the team of For All Mankind Season 2. These include Cynthy Wu as Kelly Baldwin, Karen, and Ed’s adopted daughter. Casey W. Johnson as Danny Stevens, Tracy and Gordo’s son. Coral Peña as Aleida Rosales, a bright engineer with a problematic past.

For All Mankind Season 2: What To Expect?

As per the official synopsis, the second season would pick up a decade later in 1983 during the Cold War hike between the USSR and the United States. In which, “Ronald Reagan is the president and the greater aspiration of science and space exploration. Those are in danger of being misused. Since the US and Soviets go neck-to-neck to control the rich resources present on the Moon. So, the Department of Defense has shifted into Mission Control, and the militarization of NASA becomes the crucial part of the story.”

However, some fight back to save it, while some fight to use it as an opportunity to advance the resources and their interests. However, all those fights for resources lead everyone to nuclear war.
