Suicide Squad 2 is all set to return with the original team members along with a batch of new ones. However, this time fans would see one of their favorite characters changing into evil in Suicide Squad 2 or The Suicide Squad. This time, the DC Extended Universe is completely changing everything after the first film didn’t hit the ground well. The studio has shifted to change the plans to get rewarding outcomes and explore the exploits of Harley Quinn, which they already tried in Birds Of Prey.
Suicide Squad 2 is returning with James Gunn directing the standalone film sequel to the 2016 David Ayer’s film. With many of the team members of Task Force X returning to play their characters. However, the sequel is meant to be a soft reboot of the original film. But, it would explore the things which they haven’t done in the first Suicide Squad.
Suicide Squad 2: What To Expect From The Next Season?
Lately, the showrunner revealed that the upcoming film would bring back Task Force X to Jotunheim. The place where the Nazis took there most of the experiment has now turned to prison in South America. There they took most of the political prisoners to conduct their experiments. So, the team will move its head to the wrong place.
The Main Villain Of All Time Will Return
Though The Suicide Squad 2 villain hasn’t been revealed yet. But, everything is pointing towards only one direction that Starro The Conqueror will return. Well, in the comic book Starro was the Justice League enemy. But, it seems that Gunn is taking Starro as the perfect enemy for his Task Force X as well.
Well, Starro is an alien ally conqueror having a humanoid central mind that controls and successfully initiates the commands. However, he has expertise in making the clone, which acts according to him. However, these clones act as parasites that attach to the nervous system of the person. So, that it can turn them into a drone. But, it’s unclear he will return, or someone becomes the victim of him.
Someone Will Turn Into Evil
In August 2020, at the DC FanDome event, the cast teased that someone will turn their back in the upcoming movie. However, the biggest villain will turn one of the Task Force X members into a foe. Now, Rick Flag returns with his team.
But, there’s a couple of scenes that teased that Rick would turn enemy in the second film. As he is fighting with his new teammate, Peacemaker (John Cena). So, we could expect that Starro has turned Rick into an enemy. Well, it would be a great turn in Rick’s story arc, as he failed to lead the team in the last film.
Suicide Squad 2: Release Date
Well, recently, the showrunner has announced that Suicide Squad 2 will return to explain Rick and other characters’ story next year. However, you don’t have to wait a lot as Suicide Squad 2 will air on August 4, 2021. So, don’t miss it.
