A Quick Recap!

In the premiere episode, Burnham and Book took the Discovery for a first contact mission to a planet that had been cut off after the Burn. As a gesture of friendship, Burnham offered dilithium, but the planet’s community was unsure about trusting the Starfleet. After that, the Discovery reenergized the civilization’s satellite system and headed back.

Meanwhile, in Star Trek Discovery Season 4 Episode 1, Saru had been helping Su’Kal to adapt to the Kelpien society for a long time. However, the Kelpiens were unsure about joining the federation. Su’kal acknowledged Saru’s desire to return to the Discovery. However, he reminded Saru about his allegiance to Kaminar, which obligated him to stay.

At the Starfleet Academy, it was revealed that 60 planets had joined the federation so far. As celebrations began, Rillak introduced the Archer Apacedock, a system that could be used as an alternative to Dilithium crystals. During the briefing, Admiral Charles Vance ordered Burnham to take the Discovery and find the whereabouts of a lost space station.

The Starfleet located the station, but the transporters of the station were unresponsive. Burnham and Bell went back to the station. She took the escape pod back to the Discovery while Rillak tried to convince the station chief to leave.

Eventually, Tilly and Adira were rescued, but the station chief got killed from the debris. Towards the end, Book informed that his home planet, Kwejian, was destroyed by an unknown force in Star Trek Discovery Season 4 Episode 1.
