The sixteenth episode of The Curse Of Oak Island Season 9 is titled “Gold Diggers.” Rick is inching closer to making an unbelievable discovery around the Swamp Area in the returning episode. Moreover, Marty and the crew will continue their quest by digging around The Money Pit area with a giant excavator. They intend on finding the fabled treasure vault in the Money Pit, following the path laid down by former US President Franklin D. Roosevelt.

The team continues to dig a ten-foot-wide steel cage shaft. They used some heavy machinery for digging around the Money Pit area in the previous episode. Unfortunately, certain environmental restrictions led to some delays in the digging. Luckily, Marty stayed optimistic about completing the task using the ROC machinery.
Further, in The Curse Of Oak Island Season 9 Episode 15, the crew discovered a precious artifact while digging. Marty secured the artifact and gave it to Dr. Chris for analysis. Chris is an Earth Sciences Professor and an expert in historical findings. He used the laser ablation method to check the authenticity of the artifact. The same method was used to confirm the authenticity of the Knight’s Templar a few seasons ago. The artifact was found to be authentic and belonged to European origin.
Elsewhere, the team discovered a clubbed nail and some old metal artifacts during the cage shaft drilling. Rick and the team also took a closer look at the debris from the digging. The operator told the Laginas about the excavator running into an unretrievable object. Initially, they were unsure about digging deeper.
However, they eventually decided to drill through the object. The team found a massive boulder that might have been used for mining purposes in the past. The Lagina Brothers also discovered some wood compatible with the beams and a boot. The team was optimistic about being on the right path at the end of The Curse Of Oak Island Season 9 Episode 15.
