The upcoming episode, “The Good Lawyer,” will center on the new character, Joni (played by Kennedy McMann). Joni is a young and ambitious attorney with obsessive-compulsive disorder. After learning that one of his patients has sued Shuan for a malpractice case, Glassman seeks Janet’s (Felicity Huffman) help. Janet has a reputation for winning every case that she takes. But after meeting Joni, Shaun decides to let her deal with his matter as she can understand his situation and the severity of the case. However, Janet doubts Joni’s ability.
She believes Joni is still inexperienced and needs to learn how to handle herself in court. But Shaun believes her and lets her take over his case. However, everything changes when her OCD takes over the situation. However, Janet still supports Shaun and is ready to help him win the case. Meanwhile, Lea doubts Shaun’s choice. The couple once again finds themselves at a crossroads, creating issues in their life. As for Shaun and Joni, they start to know each other well, which leads to a new friendship.

In the previous episode, Jordan, Lim, and Morgan treated Sonja, a pregnant woman whose condition threatened her and her baby’s lives. But considering the risk, Morgan and Jordan argued over abortion as it could be the best option for her, while Sonja was willing to risk her life to save her baby. Ultimately Jordan convinced Sonja by opening up about her abortion. But they first prepared to baptize her baby. Park unwillingly treated Joe, who was behind his failed marriage, and now he sought Park’s forgiveness. But Morgan helped Park realize he was only responsible for ruining his relationship as he couldn’t let go of things.
Later, Park saves Joe and also forgives him. Meanwhile, Jared Kalu sought Shaun’s help to treat the world’s fifth richest man, Roland Barnes. After diagnosis, Jared and Shaun discovered a tapeworm larva in Barnes’ brain. Shaun then encouraged Jared to team up with him, and with his encouragement, he asked Lim to let him resume his residency. But Jared had to join as the first-year resident again. It tore apart Roland as he didn’t want to lose him. Back to the pregnancy case, Morgan worked on IVF with Jordan and Lim’s help. In contrast, Glassman and Lea shopped for new furniture. However, she struggled with the idea of giving up her sports car for the baby’s safety. But they later surprised Shaun with a brand new sports car that would be safe for the baby. While celebrating, Shaun received news that he was being sued for malpractice.
