Tae-hwa and everyone believe that Yoo-ha is Lee Seol and captures him. The King prepares to execute him and starts torturing him to the deal. After sacrificing himself, Yoo-ha urges San to save him once he saves everyone in the previous episode. After Queen Dowager learns about Yoo-ha’s arrest, she demands to know what the King has done to her grandchild. Meanwhile, San spirals guilt as he can’t sacrifice Yoo-ha for his life. So he prepares for a mission to save him.
But before heading to save him, San meets Dan-oh and tells her to wait for him. He also confesses his love for her. On the other hand, Shi-yeol loses Hong-joo, whose world is crumbling after learning he killed her fiance. She tells him to leave as she doesn’t want to see his face. It shatters Shi-yeol’s world, despite that he tries to convince his feelings for her. As for Yoo-ha, he prepares to sacrifice his life to save his brother, as he believes San is the last hope to change everything.

San severely injured the King in the previous week’s episode, but sadly the King wasn’t dead. He was unconscious with little hope of recovery. So it was sufficient justification for Queen Dowager to announce a new king in his place. To grab this opportunity, San and Yoo-ha visited her and confessed their true identities. However, the Queen again proved her awesomeness by telling San that nothing was his fault. As the day of the Queen Dowager’s announcement approached, everyone prepared for the life-changing decision. Yoo-ha intended to leave and start school somewhere and also asked Hwa-ryung to join him. San promised to stay with Dan-oh.
Since San was about to declare as the King, Shi-yeol left Ihwawon and his duty as Watchman. San tried to convince him to stay, but even Hong-joo’s tears didn’t work. Before leaving, he urged San not to become a monster like him. But that’s when everything spirals again. The King woke up, and the announcement was interrupted. Minister Shin and his followers were captured, and the head eunuch named Yoo-ha as Lee Seol, so Tae-hwa was tasked to arrest him. But Tae-hwa had other plans. He kidnapped Hong-joo and Dan-oh and demanded Yoo-ha, San, and Shi-yeol to come together and rescue them. In this process, Hwa-ryung lost her life, and Yoo-ha ended up in a mess.
