Upon excavating more, the team discovered that one end of the tunnel was connected to Baby Blob. The tunnel was believed to be located around a hundred feet below the surface. That may lead them to a hidden room used to store treasure. While the team seemed optimistic about uncovering the immense wealth, Craig Tester discovered another artifact. He found a piece of wood with a Carbon-14 date inscribed on it. Although it wasn’t that valuable, the team was satisfied as it helped them uncover its connection to the 1734 period.
According to the experts, the tunnel was created more than five decades before the Money Pit was first discovered. Later, the team found traces of another tunnel closer to the Garden Shaft on the eastern side. After starting their work, Terry Matheson learned that the tunnel was about 8 feet tall after noticing an upright beam. Interestingly, the beam was manufactured before mechanical saws were invented, leaving them to wonder what was hidden beneath 100 feet.
