Welcome To Plathville: Kim Shares Her Overflowing Struggles!
Kim Plath featured in the show’s episode 2 to open up about her relationship and life. The major shift she faced was navigating a tough divorce with Barry. The mom of nine revealed that she got a new part-time job at Tallahasse restaurant. She works a couple of nights per week to host guests, which brings her satisfaction.
Lydia and Moriah go to the same workplace, so Kim is glad that she at least gets to see her daughters. She said for the first time, she felt uncomfortable returning to the work zone. After college, she didn’t work a real job. The TLC star confessed to having spoken with Barry, but they clashed, and she is financially weak.
Furthermore, Kim told the cameras that she built some of her properties, which were once under her care. Hence, she worried about what would happen after the divorce was finalized. Moriah’s mom’s concerns centered on the assets, wondering if she would ever get her hands on them in their divorce. Upon losing them, she would have nothing left to sustain herself.
Kim said she can’t rely on hostessing entirely. She needed more income, but every day she is struggling. The hardest part of her thoughts is her realizing she has hit 50 and feels like retirement. She stated, “I think I’m pretty good at handling my money, but Barry is beyond good with money.” She mentioned that he had a 25-year career of great success, which she supported.
