Despite the production wrapped up in time, Yellowstone Season 4 would take more time than usual to return to our screen. The last season took us on a bumpy ride wherein the Dutton family faced some deadly events. As of now, it’s unclear whether the family survived the explosive attacks ended with bombs and gunfire. However, Forrie J. Smith teased that Yellowstone Season 4 would portray the aftermath of these events.
Yellowstone Season 4: Production Wrapped Up!
In February 2020, the Paramount Network renewed the ranch drama for Yellowstone Season 4, four months before the third season premiered. The early renewal of season 4 does not come as a surprise, as the show earned five million viewers per episode, as per Variety. Although, the filming was halted due to the ongoing pandemic for a few months. But the series co-creator Taylor Sheridan shared that the filming would begin in mid-August 2020.
He added that the show takes place on a ranch in Montana, where at that time, there were no active cases of COVID. However, soon when the series aired its season 3’s finale, Chief Joseph Ranch, where the show’s filmed, confirmed that filming for the fourth season had finished. Soon Cole Hauser, who plays Rip Wheeler, confirmed on April 7, 2021, that they wrapped filming on November 11.
Yellowstone Season 4: Who Will Be In The Cast?
After the third season’s cliffhanger ending, we wonder if the entire cast survived the bomb and gunfire. However, it’s unclear at this moment. But, deeming their recent post on social media, we can expect that the entire cast would return.
So, two-time Oscar-winning star Kevin Costner as John Dutton will return. Besides, Kelly Reilly as Beth, Luke Grimes as Kayce, and Wes Bentley as Jamie Dutton will also return. However, their fate remains up in the air. Apart from Dutton’s family members, Cole Hauser, as John’s business partner Rip Wheeler will also return. The last season’s antagonist Danny Huston as Dan Jenkins will also return.
Yellowstone Season 4: What Will Happen Next?
In the last season finale, we saw a bomb explode in Beth’s office while John and Kayce meet with the gunfire at different locations. However, it’s still unclear who plotted all these attacks against the Dutton family. But there’s a high chance that only one mastermind is behind all these attacks. Further, it’s unclear whether John and Beth survived the attack.
But the fourth season will more likely see the Dutton family expanding their cattle ranch and involving in bigger and deadly conflicts. In a recent interview, Florrie J. Smith (Lloyd) said that the fourth season would continue with don’t mess with the Dutton’s attitude. It seems the Duttons will return with the full force to avenge what happened with them in the past.
Yellowstone Season 4: When Will It Air?
As of now, the Paramount Network has yet to announce the official release date of the fourth season. However, they wrapped the production a while ago, and last year, it confirmed that Yellowstone Season 4 would air in 2021. But the network’s silence hints that the Paramount Network is either trying a different promotional approach or air later this air.
Is Yellowstone Season 5 Happening?
Well, the fourth season got renewal months before season 3 even aired. But this time, the show is indeed keeping the cards close to the chest. So we can’t dig more of it. Although there’s still ample time to greenlight the show for next run. Yet, we can’t forget that the filming has already wrapped up. Hopefully, the network would soon come up with Yellowstone Season 5 renewal announcement in a couple of months.
