The previous season finale proved Lagina Brothers’ theory right that revealed the treasure is still buried somewhere close to the Money Pit.
Since the beginning of the series, Rick, Marty, and the crew members have been trying to uncover The Oak Island’s 224-year-old treasure mystery. However, the team is close to extracting some valuable clues and perhaps treasure for the first time.

The last season wrapped up on May 4, 2021. However, the network hasn’t revealed the future of The Curse Of Oak Island yet. Well, the series has been the biggest hit reality TV show on History Channel. Thus, we can expect that soon the network will return with the ninth run. Moreover, the metal detecting expert Gary Drayton aka Metal Detecting Ninja, has also teased the possibility of the next run.
Gary said that the eighth season was the most productive season in the history of the entire series. They have discovered a lot this year than they could’ve ever yearned. So, the possibility is pretty high for its renewal. Further, the eighth season was renewed in late September and premiered in early November. So, it could mean that History will drop the renewal a couple of months before its premiere.

Although the History Channel hasn’t officially renewed The Curse Of Oak Island Season 9, it looks like they have secretly begun filming. Recently, the series Facebook page “Oak Island From The Other Side Of The Causeway” disclosed the picture of the extraction site. It features heavy machinery, diggers, and trucks in Oak Island, hinting filming has begun.
However, it didn’t show any sign of the cast members. Still, Gary Drayton (metal detecting expert) shared a couple of snaps, stating that he was happy to return to his favorite place. Well, Gary and Facebook post teased that filming has secretary started. However, when one of the fans asked Gary whether the show got renewed for the ninth season, “not yet,” said Gary. He further clarified that the pictures are from 2020. But, the new machinery implies that filming will soon begin.

Although the team and the network haven’t offered many updates on the production, yet Gary teased that they are currently working on the ninth season. He said the last season left them with a lot of unsolved puzzles. So now he’s looking into the history books to find some valuable clues. Further, they need to connect the dots, which they uncover in the past, to frame the whole picture.
