As per the recent reports, the production of Shazam 2 has wrapped up. The news about production wrap is enthralling for the lovers of DCEU’s entertainment-packed superhero movie Shazam. Not just that, the official title of the second run is also out. The sequel has officially been titled “Shazam! Fury of the Gods.” Director Sandberg opened up about production wrap-up.
Director, David F Sandberg, is well known for sharing highlights from the production sets on social media. Recently, he shared a picture announcing a production wrap-up on Instagram. The image had the director along with a destroyed set in the background.

Shazam 2: Renewal & Production Details
Shazam 2 received renewal days after the release of Shazam in April 2020. The production was scheduled to begin in 2020. However, the delays and the cancellations slowed down the movie’s production journey. The production kicked off in May 2021 after a major shutdown in October 2020 due to the pandemic.
As the shooting has ended after a little over three months, the film will move to the production stage. During the post-production, Shazam 2 will undergo video editing and visual effects editing. However, reshoots have been known to happen during the post-production stage.
Plot & Cast Details
The Shazam family will be the center of attention in the upcoming sequel. The fans can prepare to see Shazam and his foster superhero family on their quest to save the world from mysterious magical dangers. Shazam! Fury of the Gods will be starring Zachary Levi as Shazam and Asher Angel as Bill Baton.
Also, his Shazam family will return with Freddy, Pedro, Eugene, Mary, and Darla. Meanwhile, they have to face the evil antagonistic daughter of Atlas. Lucy Liu (Kalypso), Helen Mirren (Hespera) will bring Atlas’ daughters to life. Rachel Zegler, West Side Story Star, will also be joining the cast. However, her character has not been revealed yet.
Further, Djimon Hounsou will be returning as the Shazam Wizard, the sole survivor from the Council of Wizards. Shazam 1 witnessed the death of the wizard. However, he will return for Shazam 2. He found Bill Baton and gave him the powers of Shazam. However, he will possibly be seen through flashbacks, by resurrection, or hallucinations.
While there have been no plot revelations yet, the picture posted by Sandberg might leave a few clues for the excited fans. The image depicted a destroyed bedroom set that looks similar to Bill Baton’s foster home. This creates a possibility of destruction caused by the practicing young heroes or the movie’s supervillains.

As the production wraps up, it seems hopeful that Shazam 2 will meet its official release schedule. Shazam! Fury of the Gods is scheduled to premiere on June 2, 2023. As the film moves to the post-production states meeting the dates planned seems to be a bright prospect for the eager fans.
