Wheel Of Time Season 2: Has It Renewed Yet?
Of course, yes! As per the reports, Amazon renewed Wheel Of Time for the second run way before its first season could air. Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke confirmed the main reason to renew the series for the second run. They wanted to continue investing in the fantasy genre of all type. Further, they wanted to continue with the creative partners. Even now the streamer is looking forward to aligning something different for their subscribers. While unaware of the fact that the series’ opening would break the records.
Salke also told Deadline that the series’ opening was the most-watched premiere of this year. Even the pilot episode landed on Top 5 launches of all time on Amazon Prime Video. Although like other streaming platforms, Amazon Prime never reveals its ratings. Yet Salke teased that there were tens and tens of millions of streams within the first three days of its release.
Further, as per the third party TV-I, Wheel Of Time topped on social across all launched shows last weekend. The series even turned out as the biggest successful show on the streaming giant.
Wheel Of Time Outweigh The Other Fantasy Series
As per Parrot Analytics, Wheel Of Time outweighed several fantasy series this weekend including The Witcher. In turn, Wheel Of Time came out as the biggest opening on Amazon Prime after the second season of The Boys in October 2020 and Mirzapur in November 2020. Well, all credit goes to Amazon’s marketing strategy that hooked the fans to explore more in the show. But despite the show gaining massive success, Salke stated they are open for criticism. Although they only wanted to look on the positive side.
Salke Praised Everyone For Bringing Such A Powerful Series
Salke further added that the streamer is pleased by the strong debut. The series turned out as the most-watched show on the streaming platform. It’s a testament to everyone involved in the series to bring the bestseller fantasy novel into the visually stunning world. Including the magnificent cast led by Rosamund Pike, the entire creative team, and the showrunner Rafe Judkins. The diverse culture and characters have already allured many fans. And now, they can’t wait to see what will happen next in Wheel Of Time Season 2.
Wheel Of Time Season 2: Has Production Begun Yet?
While Amazon renewed the series back in May, the creative team didn’t waste much time to continue filming. The filming for the second run began in July in Prague, the Czech Republic where it is currently filming. However, the spokesperson of the streaming platform confirmed that they are halfway to wrapping the principal photography of the second run. While the first season faced plenty of delays due to the pandemic, we hope it wouldn’t happen in the case of Wheel Of Time Season 2.
