Law & Order Season 21 Episode 3 Preview: What Will Happen?

The third episode of Law & Order Season 21 is titled “Filtered Life.” The Internet is taken by storm after the mysterious disappearance of a social media star. As the chaos ensues, Bernard and Cosgrove will try to find the star. Moreover, Price and Maroun might have to go against the wishes of the missing woman’s family. They will have to make some tough decisions which the family might not prefer taking.

A couple found a man who was shot twice in the chest at Central Park previously. Detectives Benard and Cosgrove reached the park and found a pen in the man’s jacket, leading them to a company. They met the company’s CEO, Nina Ellis, who confirmed that the man was Kyle Morrison, the company’s COO, and her fiance. While questioning Nina, the duo discovered some discrepancies in her bank statements.

The officers discovered that a man threatened Morrison several times. The company’s cancer screening test showed also positive and the man’s life was ruined because of it. Also, the team discovered that the company was aware of the flaws yet they chose not to warn their customers. The company’s former CTO, Derek Seaver tried to stonewall the Detectives as he had signed an NDA. Cosgrove was suspicious about Derek’s sudden exit from the company and suspected Nina.

Further, in Law & Order Season 21 Episode 3, the team got a tip about a man tossing a sun in a sewer near Seaver’s house. The detectives questioned Seaver, who revealed that the screening tests were flawed and Nina forged data for FDA approval. He told Morrison about it and tried to delay the IPO, after which Morrison ended up dead. The detectives arrested Nina after finding blood spatter on her coat at her house. Dixon submitted the evidence to the DA”s office.

Nina Tries To Portray Herself As A Victim

During the trial, Nina was portrayed by Prince as a wealthy white woman who killed her fiancee for greed. Nina was forbidden from leaving the country and the bail was set at $5 million. She made a public plea while Kyle’s father demanded justice for his son. Surprisingly, Nina changed her petition to the battered woman plea. She claimed to have been mentally, physically, and emotionally abused by Kyle. She said the only way out of the toxic relationship was to kill him. McCoy advised Prince to let Nina tell all the lies and then tear her apart to show her real side to the jury.

After Nina’s open lies at the witness stand, Prince attacked her with the data submitted to the FDA, which differed from Seaver’s records. Prince tried to establish that the tests were around 50% accurate. Nina continued with her lies and told the jury that Kyle broke her arm three months ago. It tuned out Nina injured herself playing polo on a horse. So, Price proved it as the jury found Nina guilty in Law & Order Season 21 Episode 3.
