The Curse Of Oak Island Season 9 Episode 18 Preview: What Will Happen?

The eighteenth episode of The Curse Of Oak Island Season 9 is titled “Blast From the Past.” The team will discover an artifact that will lead them to believe that is closer to intercepting the legendary Chappell Vault. The Lagina Brothers seem to be inching closer to the vault after discovering explosive paper previously around shaft TF1.

In the previous episode, The Laginas discovered a new shaft and began to find artifacts instantly around the Money Pit area. The team was hoping to find something crucial after the digging around Shaft TF1 ended in a disappointment. The elder statement of Oak Island, Dan Henskee, started the drill and named the shaft EC1 (Early Christmas 1).

The 10-feet wide steel caisson began carving out the shaft area. The EC1 could be a success as they found wood dating back to 1488 earlier. They had also found some traces of gold and silver. The team has two objectives during the digging around EC1. Firstly, they were looking for a collapsed tunnel that might contain the scattered remains of the treasure.

As per the historical records, a collapse occurred at 90-118 feet during digging in 2861. The Lagina Brothers believed that the collapse might have shattered the chamber, causing the gold and silver to scatter widely. Moreover, they also aimed to find the Chappell Vault, named after William Chappell’s did in the 1930s.

Further, the crew managed to get the drill up to 80 feet in almost no time. They were excited after watching the hammer grab pulling out wood. At 86 feet, the hammer grab began pulling out ax cut wood beams. the wood was sent for carbon testing to find out the true age.

Elsewhere, Jack Begley uncovered an artifact from the ruins of the TF1 shaft. The guys were excited to find a small piece of parchment as it was believed that some ancient documents were buried in the Money Pit. The analysis team revealed that the paper was used to wrap dynamite. President Roosevelt used dynamite in a shaft at the Money Pit in 1909. Marty revealed that small pieces of treasure would have blown off due to the detonation in The Curse Of Oak Island Season 9 Episode 17.
