The second episode of Young Rock Season 2 is titled “Seven Bucks.” During 1996, Dwayne will struggle to settle down on the Calgary Stampeders practice squad. He will fear that he would be cut off from the practice squad too. However, a life-transforming day with a teammate will give him a new perspective towards life. In 2032, an online troll from one of Dwayne’s childhood haters will threaten his presidential campaign in the second episode.

In the premiere episode of Young Rock Season 2, Rock was still the presidential candidate for the 2032 elections. Dwayne recalled feeling proud when his father Rocky and his Soul Patrol partner Tony Atlas won the WWE tag team championship. They became the first black wrestlers to achieve the feat. Suddenly, preteen Dewey felt jealous of Tony and the Soul-Patrol fans. They got to see more of Rocky than Dewey and his mom did. Rock also began to feel a little envied when the fans gave more attention to Tony.
However, the good times didn’t last too long for the Johnsons in Hawaii, And by the time Dwayne turned fifteen in 1987, Rocky was struggling to provide for his family. He was forced to take low-paid wrestling gigs in Nashville after his family was evicted. Nashville brought Bruno, a wrestling heel, and Bob Owens, a wrestling carpenter into the picture. Rocky oversold Nashville to his family. He lied about securing an apartment to his wife Ata and was living in a one-star motel.
Dwayne’s hopes of being drafted to the NFL came to an end after college. He had to move to Canada to play for the Calgary Stampeders. Sadly, Dwayne could not make it to the team and had to stay on the practice squad. He wasn’t paid enough and had to stay at a shabby one-star motel just like his father. Dwayne relied on the love of his parents, grandmother Lia, and his college girlfriend Dany to keep him motivated until things got better.
