Netflix’s prison comedy-drama series Orange Is The New Black debuted on the platform in 2013. The series developed by Jenji Kohan is based on Piper Kerman’s book Orange Is The New Black: My Year in a Women’s Prison. The last season of the series premiered in 2019. In that, viewers saw Piper trying to adjust to life outside the prison. Many fans have been waiting for the show’s return with Orange Is The New Black Season 8. But is it really happening? Will There Be Orange Is The New Black Season 8?

The seventh season of the prison comedy-drama series premiered on Netflix on July 26, 2019. And unfortunately, we are sad to inform the fans the show has officially ended after the seven seasons and 91 episodes. So, Orange Is The New Black Season 8 will not be returning. While some fans are disheartened by the series coming to an end. On the flip side, some are content that the series has reached its natural point of the conclusion instead of getting canceled abruptly.

What Happened In The Last Season?

In the last season, it was clear that Piper was having a tough time trying to adapt to life outside Litchfield prison. She had to crash in with Neri and Cal as she couldn’t afford her lease and trial charges. Meanwhile, Alex attempted to get Badison out. So, she planted a telephone in Badison’s quarters. Taystee found the phone, and a fight broke out between the two, resulting in them going to solitary confinement. 

The final episode of the seventh season concluded with a montage that delves into the lives of some characters. Alex is transferred to the Ohio jail, which also houses Big Boo, Anita, Yoga Jones, Gina, Sankey, and others. Nicky became a mother figure to a handful of the captives. At the ICE office, Flaca assisted the detainees. Meanwhile, Gloria reunited with her kids.

On the other hand, Blanca won the case and chose to repair things between Diablo and Honduras. Taystee started the Poussey Washington Fund with Suzanne’s support and a little help from Judy King. The flute player resolved to move to Ohio to be with Alex, starting over and effectively visiting him in jail.

The cast roaster of Netflix’s comedy-drama series features ensemble power actors. The show stars Taylor Schilling in the role of Piper Chapman, Laura Prepon as Alex Vause, and Michael J. Moreover, the cast includes Jason Biggs appearing as Larry Bloom and Uzo Aduba portraying Suzanne Warren.
