The Apothecary Diaries Episode 10: Preview Sheds Light On An Important Person!
Maomao has recently learned that her father has restricted her from coming closer to the dead body. While she deals with the intel, the servant woman’s death will continue to create problems for her. The Apothecary Diaries Episode 10, titled “Honey,” hints that a rumor spreads in the palace that the servant lady who drowned in the moat was behind the poisoning at the garden party. It is believed that she has poisoned Lady Lishu and later committed suicide. However, Jinshi doubts this rumor and decides to investigate the matter.
He then calls Maomao to investigate the connection between a servant girl and Lady Lishu. To unearth the truth, Maomao heads to the Garnet Palace, where the party is held. Previously, in The Apothecary Diaries Episode 9, Maomao’s homecoming shocked Jinshi, who continued to brood until Gyokuyou revealed the truth. However, their conversation was interrupted when an eunuch reported about a high-ranking official, Kounen’s death. He died from heavy drinking during a party. The case was soon handed to Maomao, who investigated the matter and concluded that he died because of the excessive use of salt in his drink. Someone knew that he had a severe sweet tooth, and because of hatred or pranking, they placed salt at the party, causing Kounen’s death. However, Maomao refused to reveal the name.
Meanwhile, Jinshi mocked passing a law on underage drinking. Later, Maomao and the doctor were summoned to perform an autopsy on a servant woman who was found dead in the moat. However, the doctor refused to perform an autopsy as it could be used for medicinal ingredients. But Maomoa doubted whether it was a suicide or a murder, considering the circumstances surrounding the crime scene. While she still suspected, the case was closed by claiming it was a suicide. It later led to the death of a minister. Upon investigation, it was learned that Fengming, Lady Ah-Duo’s heady lady-in-waiting, was the culprit.
