Cast Reaction On Ambitions Season 2 Cancelation
Shortly after OWN canceled the drama series, the show’s leading lady, Robin Givens, took to Instagram to share her sorrow. She stated: “Found out last week” the show wouldn’t be returning. Unfortunately, the post is now deleted. Meanwhile, the series co-creator, Jamey Giddens, also took to Twitter (now known as X) to confirm this cancelation news. Jamey stated it was a joy to create such a show. He was forever grateful to LionsgateTV and Will Power Packer Media for such an opportunity to tell black and brown people tales.
When a fan questioned the Ambitions Season 2 cancelation decision, Gibbens responded, “Our show was the No. 1 in black households.” He also addressed that the viewership of the drama series was double that of the rest of the shows on OWN. It was also “critically acclaimed” and quickly renewed on the network. Yet, this mishap took place. Gibbens concluded, “Your guess is as good as mine,” hinting at some off-screen drama regarding Ambitions.
Reason Behind Ambitions Season 2 Cancelation
Although the network hasn’t yet revealed the major reason behind the series cancelation, reports suggest ‘viewership to be blamed.’ The series launched with 1.2 million total viewers. The pilot episode received a 0.3 rating in the demo. But the numbers dropped throughout the season. The finale received 0.6 million viewers and a 0.1 rating. That was a bit disappointing compared to its pilot episode. However, in Live+SD ratings, the show averaged a 0.2 rating and 0.7 million viewers, higher than David Makes Man, which only received 0.4 million viewers and a 0.1 rating in the demo.
Despite that, David Makes Man was renewed for the sophomore run by OWN. While many believed OWN did injustice with the drama series by canceling Ambitions Season 2, a Redditor supported the decision. A user on Reddit said that although Robin Givens’ performance was incredible, the show lacked material. It was a complete mess and didn’t give justice to its storyline. It was ‘utter crap even by daytime soap opera standards,’ Redditor continued.
Petition Signed For Series Renewal
The series undoubtedly has a separate fanbase, and those who loved it look forward to Ambitions Season 2. A petition was also signed on June 3, 2022, on Change.org with a goal of 1,000 signatures. However, it has only reached 661 signatures to date. The petition was also signed to revive Ambitions on BET. But there’s no confirmation whether this will happen. However, we will update you soon.

What Might Have Happened In Ambitions Season 2?
Georgia is home to politically established families with lots of wealth in their kitty. Ambitions is all about two such families who stand facing each other. With a high level of cut-throat competition in personal and professional lives, both have their own complexities.
In season 1, Titus got injured in a hit-and-run case. Amara was not ready to accept as the accident was severe. Titus’ accident seemed like a pre-planned mishappening. He wanted to inform Amara about it. But, before he could speak anything, he drowned in an unconscious condition. On the other hand, Rondell faced a crisis related to his company shares. His cousin sold away her shares to Greg Peters. Her unexpected move left Rondell in a messy circumstance. Meanwhile, Stephanie and Evan had a word about the love child. Their wedding saw an indefinite ending. Moreover, Evan’s political ambition became more uncertain.
The second season would have focused on more rivalry drama between the families. Many relationships fell apart, and several were deceived in season 1. Ambitions season 2 might have explored Amara’s connection with Titus. Also, a couple of unanswered questions must have been addressed. Why did Titus claim his accident was not an unforeseen circumstance? What else did Stephanie and Amara plan together? Such queries had the probability of being taken into account.
