Upcoming Marvel Movies In 2022: From Doctor Strange Till Spider-Man: Across The Spiderverse

Due to the global pandemic of Covid 19, the year 2020 was a drought for new movies releases in the superhero world and otherwise. As a result, several delayed projects arrived in 2021. However, if everything goes well and Covid does not return for another outing. Then, Marvel should count themselves in for some mind-blowing treats. So, here is a list of all the upcoming Marvel movies arriving this year.

   

Morbius

Kicking off our list of upcoming Marvel movies is Sony’s Morbius. Even though the film is not a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it is based on the famous spiderman villain Morbius from marvel comics. The events of Spiderman No Way Home have clearly established that Marvel and Sony’s universe can peacefully coexist without any confusion. 

Sony’s Morbius is a horror fantasy superhero film set in the same universe as Venom. The film will mark the silver screen debut of popular Spiderman villain Morbius and serve as his origin story. The movie stars Academy Award winner Jared Letto as the titular character. Morbius is a vampire anti-hero. He has appeared both as a friend and foe to Spiderman. Morbius completed production in 2019. The initial release date for the movie was July 10, 2020. However, the global pandemic has forced the makers to shift the release of the film several times.

Talking about the movie’s plot, The film will revolve around Dr. Michael Morbius trying to find a cure for his rare blood condition. However, during the process, he turns into a vampire with a knack for human blood. The film was scheduled to release on January 28, 2022. However, it again got delayed. And now, it is set to release on April 1, 2022.

Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness!

The caped sorcerer of the Marvel Cinematic Universe last appeared in Spiderman no Way Home. However, the consequences of his tampering with the space-time continuum will catch up to him in Doctor Strange 2, titled The Multiverse of Madness. It looks like after the exit of Iron Man and Chris Evan’s Captain America, Strange is pushed in the center stage of MCU’s phase four. 

Doctor Strange 2 will take place in the MCU timeline after the events of Spiderman No Way Home. The teaser trailer for the upcoming Marvel movie was shown in theaters as Spiderman NWH’s post-credit scene. That has given us glimpses of what promises to be Marvel’s most epic magical adventure to date. It is already confirmed that there will be more than one version of Stephen Strange, including Strange Supreme, whom we saw in What If Season 1. In addition, Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda will appear alongside Strange. The film is scheduled to release on May 6, 2022, and we’re are looking forward to it. 

Thor Love And Thunder!

It’s been quite a while since we’ve seen Chris Hemsworth as the Asgardian God Of Thunder on the big screen. The last time we saw Thor was in Avengers Endgame when the character decided to join Guardians of Galaxy on their adventures. Thor will be the first MCU superhero to get a fourth standalone movie to his name.

THOR 4-Marvel

The writer and director of Thor Ragnarok, Taika Watiti, is returning for Thor’s fourth film. Thor is among few surviving members of the original Avengers teams. There are reports that the upcoming movie will also mark the reunion of Thor and Loki. The two brothers had not seen each other since the events of the Infinity war when Thanos killed Loki. Their reunion is likely to be epic in every sense.

In addition, Jane Foster will also return In Thor 4. She’s been missing from MCU after Thor The Dark World. And On top of it all, the most important reason to be excited for Thor Love And Thunder will be Christian Bale as Gor The Godbutcher. Thor is set to make his theatrical comeback on July 8, 2022.

Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever!

Another much anticipated upcoming Marvel movie in 2022 is the Sequal of 2018′ Black Panther, starring the late Chadwick Boseman as King T’challa. The character first appeared in MCU in 2016’s Captain America Civil War as the prince of Wakana whose father gets killed in a terrorist attack. In 2018, the first Black Panther film, directed by Ryan Cooglar released. The origin story of the first colored superhero in MCU became a global phenomenon becoming one of the highest grossing Marvel films. Black Panther received seven oscar nods while winning three of them.

Another reason for the anticipation around the Black Panther 2 is the passing away of actor Chadwick Boseman. Black Panther Wakanda Forever will reportedly be Marvel’s tribute to the late actor. The movie will star Letitia Wright as the Wankandan Princess Shuri. A few weeks ago, Marvel Studios announced that they would not recast Black Panther in MCU. Meanwhile, there are also reports of Micheal B Jordon‘s Kill Monger to return in Black Panther 2, which is coming to the cinema on November 11, 2022. In addition, some fans are also claiming Black Panther 2 will introduce Marvel’s Atlantian anti-hero Namor. 

Spiderman Across The Spiderverse!

Spider-Verse Part 2-Marvel

There might be some debate among the fans about which is the best Spiderman film. However, if we go according to critics, 2018’s animated film Spiderman Into The Spiderverse is hands down the best Spiderman film. The animated movie introduced the viewers to an alternate Spiderman in the form of Miles Morales. The year 2022 will mark the release of the much-anticipated sequel of 2018’s animated film. The movie is titled Spiderman Across the Spiderverse. 

Sony’s Spiderman Across The Spiderverse will release in two parts, with the first part of the movie is set to release on October 7, 2022. The film will feature several versions of the titular web-slinging superhero, including a Japanese and Indian Spiderman. Sony already shared the first look for the upcoming movie on December 5, 2021.
