Succession Season 3: Will See Alexander Skarsgård In A Recurring Role- Production Status And More

HBO’s favorite son Alexander Skarsgård signed to join the Emmy-winning show in its next run, Succession Season 3 for a recurring role. The high-profile show faced plenty of setbacks in the most recent finale. However, Alexander’s entry might change Logan Roy‘s world in the third run. But after Kendall’s betrayal, Logan should play a safe game while dealing with his rivals.

HBO’s dark comedy-drama Succession revolves around the dysfunctional family of Logan Roy and his global media company Waystar RoyCo. After Logan’s children discovered their father’s ill health, they begin planning different ways to win the company’s rights. However, the last season ended up with a twisting climax where Kendall finally tricked everyone. Further, the series has received many awards for its writing, acting, and production values.

Succession Season 3: A Familiar Face Will Recur

Alexander Skarsgård will join the third run of HBO’s hit series Succession. Alexander will play Luk as Matsson, a successful, bellicose tech founder and CEO. Well, HBO viewers’ are quite familiar with Alexander and his intense acting skills. He also won a Golden Globe and Emmy for his role in Big Little Lies Season 1. Alexander had also seen in the HBO series Generation Kill and True Blood.

Alexander’s recent TV work includes The Stand and The Little Drummer Girl. Besides, he is no stranger to the big screen as well. Fans recently saw him in a globally hit movie Godzilla vs. Kong. His other credits include The Aftermath, The Legend of Tarzan, and Long Shot. Alexander is repped by CAA and Hansen Jacobson.

Who Will Return?

Brian Cox will return as Logan Roy with Hiam Abbass as Marcia Roy and Kieran Culkin as Romulus “Roman” Roy. Alan Ruck as Connor Roy, Sarah Snook as Siobhan “Shiv” Roy, and Jeremy Strong as Kendall Roy will also appear. Nicholas Braun as Gregory “Greg” Hirsch, Peter Friedman as Frank Vernon, Matthew Macfadyen as Thomas “Tom” Wambsgans will join too.

Rob Yang as Lawrence Yee, Dagmara Domińczyk as Karolina Novotney will also return. Arian Moayed as Stewy Hosseini will return with J. Smith-Cameron as Gerri Kellman. Besides, Justin Lupe as Willa Ferreyra will also join. David Rasche as Karl Muller and Fisher Stevens as Hugo Baker will join as well.

Succession Season 3: Has Production Begun For The Next Run?

Filming for the third run was initially set to start early last year. But, the outburst of the COVID-19 halted the production. Soon the Chief content officer at HBO and HBO Max, Casey Bloys, said they wished to begin filming in the normal world. But they don’t want the series to get affected by any COVID delays. Casey confirmed they would start filming in Los Angeles instead of New York in the early stage of the pandemic.

Later the surge of COVID cases changed their plans. But finally, in late March 2021, Nicholas shared a snap on Instagram that confirmed filming has begun. Though he didn’t officially confirm filming details yet, his picture speaks the volume. In which Nicholas is posing in a black suit in front of Waystar Royco. “I’m an employee of this company,” he wrote.
