The Critic co-showrunner Al Jean finally broke the silence on The Critic Season 3 after putting the future of The Critic in limbo for several decades. The cult-favorite comedy series ran for only two seasons. But in the early 2000s, the show inspired several webisodes and received many positive responses. However, despite being one of the popular shows of that era, The Critic Season 3’s fate is still up in the air.

The animated series The Critic was created by Mike Reiss and Al Jean, which debuted in the early 90s. It follows the life of 36-year-old Jay Prescott Sherman, a New York film critic whose review TV show “Coming Attractions” airs on the Philips Broadcasting cable network. However, he appears as mean-spirited, elitist, and cold while reviewing the parody of film references. While thriving in his professional life, he struggles to form a balance in his personal life.

The Critic Season 3: Is It Happening?

Despite The Critic Season 2 received high ratings than its debut, the network canceled it after its second run. However, in early 2000 the series again saw a new beginning as webisodes on AtomFilms and Shockwave before going latent. But still, after 20 years of its absence, many fans remain hopeful that one day The Critic could return. But unfortunately, we have some bad news for you.

Speaking on the latest crossover with Disney+’s Loki and the long-running sitcom Simpsons, Jean discussed the possibility of The Critic Season 3 on Disney+. Jean divulged that Sony owes the series, so there’s no chance that Disney+ could bring a character that it doesn’t own. He added that if the streamer had to do it, they had already pitched the show to them. So, there’s no chance that The Critic Season 3 would return in the future.

Furthermore, Jean’s statement makes sense. As nowadays, many TV productions are just keeping their show in-house instead of partnering with other platforms. However, two years ago, Disney partnership with Fox and extended its library by bringing The Simpsons and Mike McMahan and Justin Roiland’s Solar Opposites. Many fans are still clamoring for the next run of The Critics. But Disney wouldn’t join hands with Sony to acquire the rights of The Critics.

Chances Are Quite Low

In addition, the present world of film criticism is quite different from the one portrayed in The Critic. Now, YouTube has several people to host their review programs on the platform. Thus, with the growing voices in a specific field, there would be a huge comparison with Siskel and Ebert’s critic’s review program. That would turn off Sherman’s profession in the future as well.

As of now, it remains dubious whether or not The Critic would return for the third season. However, if someday Jean and Mike return with some different story arcs, then it would be possible that fans could see more of the third season. While there are several characters in this complex series, Ah Sahm is the character around whom the entire story revolves. After arriving in America, he finds himself entangled in many conflicts between two warring gangs Hop Wei and Long Zii. Unfortunately, despite the massive success of the series, Cinemax ceased its production. But hopefully, fans can learn more about Ah Sahm’s struggle now as it has been revived back by WarnerMedia.

Warrior Season 3: Has It Renewed?

Even before the premiere of Warrior Season 2, Cinemax announced back in January 2020 that they plan to thwart producing the original content shows. Unfortunately, the news came out just before when WarnerMedia announced the launch of a new streaming service, HBO Max. Well, there’s no doubt that WarnerMedia is focusing more on its next platform. But this announcement leads the series to face an uphill battle.

Howbeit Warrior’s cancelation was bitter for fans as it explores the legends of Bruce Lee‘s life. But soon, WarnerMedia surprised everyone as it provided a new home to Warrior. We learned that Warrior got renewed for the third season in April and will shift to its new home, HBO Max. Even the streamer has gained the rights to the first two seasons, which are now available to stream on HBO Max.

Lately, on June 14, creator Chris Van Dusen amused the fans with the first episode script picture of the second season. It confirmed that “Capital R Rake,” will be the title of the pilot episode. It’s written by Van Dusen himself and directed by Tricia Brock, who recently joined the second season. Well, this phrase Rake had used plenty of times in the first season, implying “lovable scoundrel,” which is a Regency-era term.

It means a person having several relationships but may seem interested in marriage. It clearly hints that the upcoming season would revolve around Anthony (Jonathan Bailey), philandering Bridgerton’s sibling. Again, we saw him jumping from one relationship to another in the last run. While marriage seems only a way for him to produce an heir.

Well, we all know Titans moved to Batman’s Gotham city after they encounter the long-time villain Deathstroke. However, the trailer teased the return of the caped crusader’s greatest nemesis of all time- Joker. Although we hadn’t seen him in real and even there’s no word on who’s playing Joker, yet the trailer hints at his return. As we can see, Jason Todd (as Robin Hood) breaks into an amusement park and discovers a corpse hanging on a wooden block.

However, the thrilling part here is the corpse is smiling ear to ear in Joker’s eerie trademark. It becomes more daunting when we hear his palpable cackle. Soon it turns into a shady scene that looks like Joker beating someone (probably Jason) with a crowbar. Although fortunately, he will survive. But, it could lead to a massive transformation in Jason’s life as later he resurrected as callous Red Hood.

Recently, Curran Walters revealed a new look of his transformation as Red Hood ahead of the third season premiere. Well, there’s no doubt that Jason survived the gruesome attack. But it seems like it would make him stronger and more ruthless than we ever saw him. Further, we can expect that the final moments will be playing in the back of his head. That will further lead him to destroy Titans as brutally as he can.

Finally, the network dropped the official release date of the third run. Titans Season 3 will air on August 12, 2021, on its new home HBO Max in the US. However, the series returns with a present as three episodes will be available to stream on its debut on HBO Max. After then, new episodes will follow the weekly schedule airing every Thursday.

Instead, the series has announced its new spin-off series ahead of season 3.

But don’t be surprised! As the spin-off will form the bridge between the second and third seasons. Speaking on which the showrunner Eric Kripke said that through Seven on 7, they will be delving deeper into the balance and fair patriots.
