Chicago Med Season 7: Extended Cast

After the departure of Torrey DeVitto as Dr. Natalie Manning and Yaya DaCosta as Nurse April Sexton, Chicago Med has begun extending the roster to fill the gap. Recently, The Village’s Guy Lockard and Being Human’s Kristen Hager have joined the ensemble team for the next run. Lockard will play a Chicago police officer turned into a doctor, Dr. Dylan Scott. Meanwhile, Hager has been tapped the role of Dr. Stevie Hammer, an ingenious and belligerent emergency room attending physician.

Apart from the new addition, Chicago Med has promoted Steven Weber, who plays Dr. Dean Archer, to series regular. Weber joined the show in the sixth outing when Ethan offered his former Navy supervisor to join Gaffney Chicago Medical Center’s Emergency Department. Amazon Prime Video’s original conspiracy thriller drama Hunters is created by David Weil and Jordan Peele, who serves as the series’s showrunner. Though the streamer hasn’t dropped any plot details, yet David Weil recently teased what fans could expect from Hunters Season 2.

Hunters take place in 1977 New York City, loosely based on the story of original Nazi hunters. It follows a group of hunters who are on the mission to thwart a Fourth Reich in the US due to the Nazi’s war. However, their discovery of several high-ranking Nazi officials and the US government’s plan to recruit German scientists leads them to take intense action.

Hunters Season 2: Has It Renewed Yet?

Amazon renewed Hunters for the second season last August. Although the series received mixed responses for its portrayal and narration, it earned a 64% positive review on Rotten Tomatoes. Meanwhile, Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke said that they are thrilled to return with Jordan, David, and the Hunters. Speaking of which, Weil said that he’s eager to share more of the Hunters saga with the world. Even they are beyond grateful to Amazon Prime, cast, crew, and devoted fans.

Weil ratifies that Hunters will continue to revisit history while paying tribute to the victims of the Holocaust. He added that the series is a love letter to his grandmother. He’s thrilled how the sophomore outing will honor survivors like his grandmom. Weil even confirmed that he had mapped almost five to six seasons in his head. After that, however, it’s up to Amazon Prime as to how long they want to continue the series.

Hunters Season 2: New Faces Will Join The Team

Jennifer Jason Leigh has joined as a lead in the second season of Hunters. The Oscar nominee for The Hateful Eight will play a top Nazi hunter, Chava. She will join Jerrika Hinton as Millie Morris and Logan Lerman as Jonah Heidelbaum. Leigh currently appeared in Apple TV+’s Lisey’s Story and also starred in Netflix’s Atypical. However, there is no word on whether Oscar winner Al Pacino will return as Meyer Offerman.

Recently, news came off that Good Trouble star Tommy Martinez has joined the Hunters Season 2. Well, he has guest-starred in Apple+’s Mosquito Coast. In addition, Fear Street’s Emily Rudd and The Painted Bird’s Udo Kier have joined the series along with him. Rudd currently appeared in Electric Dreams, The Romanoffs, and Dynasty. Meanwhile, Kier is been best known for his films Europa, Dancer In The Dark, Breaking The Waves, Melancholia, and Medea. Although, the streamer has yet to uncover their roles.

How Things Will Move Ahead?

Netflix’s much-awaited original net animation series, Eden, finally premiered last month after a lot of delays. It received a positive response from everyone upon its arrival. Since it ran only for four thirty-minutes long episodes, fans binged it in no time. And now they are demanding to see Eden Season 2. So, has Netflix renewed the anime yet? Eden is an original CGI adventure sci-fi anime series. Justin Leach (Star Wars: The Clone Wars) created this show for Netflix. Yasuhiro Irie directed it, whereas it was written by Kimiko Ueno. While Qubic Pictures and CGCG Studio jointly animated the first season. The entire series consists of four episodes released on May 27, 2021, on the streaming giant. 

Eden Season 2: Renewal Status!

It has only been a few days when anime was released on Netflix. Therefore, it is too early to ask the makers for its renewal. But if the show manages to get a good viewership, it seems like the creators are up for its second season.

Netflix usually takes three to four months to analyze the performance of its original shows before renewing them. So far, this show has been receiving a good response. The audience loved the setting of the dystopian future where humans no longer exist. Well, the plot centers around the sole survivor named Sarah Grace, who is raised by humans, and now she wants to revive humanity.

Justin Leach, the creator of this show, teased its second season on several occasions. A fan lately asked him to make the second season of the anime a little longer on Twitter. In response, Justin Leach tweeted as “I’d love to! It’s in the fans hands now.” This clearly indicates that if the anime gets a good viewership, there will be another season.

Justin Leach also did an interview with the Philippines press in which he talked about the possibilities of Eden Season 2. He said, “The world is composed [so that we would] be able to show more stories. For example, there’s an Eden 2 that we never spoke about, but there’s really a narrative, and there’s an event that’s occurred there, so if the fans want more, then we have more stories to tell.” Justin made clear with his statements that the show’s future entirely depends on the viewership and demand now. 

Eden Season 2: Plot Details!

By the end of the first season, the viewers saw Dr. Fields transmuted his awareness into Zero. Sarah helped him in gaining his memories, and in return, she got the password. Sarah told the three rules of robots to Zurich, and then a lot of pods began to rise from the ground. She unlocked one of those pods and found a child inside it. Sarah also visited A37 and E92 to form a bond with them. The post-credit scenes revealed that Field’s brain is now inside of a robot dog.

Now, the story of Eden Season 2 can go in several different directions as there are a lot of things to explore. The very first thing is the regeneration of humanity in Eden (city). Now, it will be interesting to see whether the decision of Field was right or not. There is a possibility that the issues like governance, sexual orientation, religion, and gender issues will rise once again. Therefore, Sarah and Dr. Field have to keep all of them in check now. 

Justin Leach also stated that he would like to develop Sarah’s character even more in Eden Season 2. She already lost her family once in the debut season. So, now it is likely that she might create a bond with them again and make them realize that she is their daughter. There was a hint that Sarah’s real parents are not in the pod. However, it is possible that she might find someone of her bloodline in it. 

On the other hand, there is a possibility of a civil war as well. Humans might start a war with the robots for putting them to sleep. Plus, machines are also taking humans’ place and works for them. So, the humans might declare war against the robots in Eden Season 2 to take their respective place in society. 

Eden Season 2: Release Date

The production of anime series usually takes a lot more time than usual shows. Also, the flawless animation makes this process even longer than usual. So, even if Netflix renews the show in the upcoming months, it will take a minimum of one and a half years to return to the screens. It had a great run of twelve episodes before ending on September 18, 2019. 

Astra Lost In Space Season 2: Renewed Or Canceled? 

The inaugural installment of this anime series received a massive response from the fans as well as the critics. It got a lot of compliments from viewers all around the globe. The outer space visuals this show featured were just magical, and the character has depth as well. It didn’t provide a chance for the viewers to complain about anything. The story of the anime is set in the year 2063 when space travel is commercially available. The protagonist, Aries Spring in the hope of getting some adventure, decided to attend a camp on another planet named McPa. However, a thief snatched her purse at the spaceport. But a guy named Kanata Hoshijima retrieved it.

Meanwhile, the group of Kanata and Aries took a worse turn after reaching the campsite. A strange black light sucked them into outer space. All of this led them to lose hope but then they found a ship that can be used to return home. When they realized they are really far from home, they all worked together sensibly to conquer the darkness of the space.

Astra Lost In Space Season 2: Release Date

It looks like fans might have to wait for a very long time to see the second season of this anime series. If the mangaka agrees to provide enough source material for the sequel, then Astra Lost In Space Season 2 might premiere sometime in 2023.

Well, Netflix’s sudden shift in the plan is related to the reception of Manifest Season 1 and 2 which might grow on Netflix in the US, including the strong impact of the #SaveManifest fan campaign. But unfortunately, reps for NBC, Netflix, and Warner Bros TV have decided to stay mum. NBC canceled Manifest on June 14, but it remains as one of the highly-watched shows on the Monday lineup. Including being the No. 1 show on both Netflix and NBC, and topping the Nielsen streaming ratings.

Netflix Looking For Global Rights

The streamer has regained its interest in Manifest after scrapping the show in June. Well, it came out as no surprise as Manifest has been remaining in the daily Top 10. However, the complicated factor here involves the series’ international distribution rights. Netflix generally wants global rights. But Warner Bros TV has already sold Manifest on the international market, as Manifest Season 3 aired on Sky in the UK.

Moreover, we had seen a few obstacles in the potential NBC-Netflix agreement on Good Girls. There, Netflix not only controlled the international rights but was also involved in the domestic full-season broadcast. But deeming Manifest popularity in the US, it could become hard for Netflix not to pursue it. So if both sides NBC-Netflix could come up with an agreement, then possibilities are high for Manifest Season 4, just like Lucifer.

Creator Hoping To Return

The series creator Jeff Rake has been hinting at a possible new season through his trivia contests and live-tweeting sessions. On July 12, he began retweeting about Manifest’s strong viewership on Netflix. However, he also asked fans to keep their faith in the show, as soon they would hear pleasant news about the renewal of Manifest Season 4. Furthermore, yesterday, following Showbiz 411 renewal news, Rake tweeted, “Lots of speculation out there. If the impossible happens and the dead rise again, it’s because of you (fans).”

Morgan Jones (Lennie James), Grace Mukherjee (Karen David), and Victor Strand (Colman Domingo) have survived the missile.
